October 20 was the National Day on Writing. To celebrate, I spent some time with a 5th grade classroom, writing 6 Word Memoirs. They would love to share their work with you!
I'm Alyssa from SMITH Magazine, the creators of the six-word memoir project. That's awesome that you inspired those 5th graders to write their own memoirs. Thanks for sharing!
Also, SMITH recently released teachers guides for those who want to incorporate six-word memoirs in their classes. Check it out!
Okay I really loved that whole process and the task, and was thrilled to watch the students carry it out, they obviously loved doing it, great idea and I applaud you for filming the task I am sure that most people would have just written the words out in text form, I have to say hearing the students read out their memoir was more rewarding. I will show this to my Y7 (11-12 year old) classroom in New Zealand tomorrow, hopefully this will empower them with their writing, and it may be a task that we carry out ourselves! Mr Webb and Room 8, Melville Intermediate School, Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand.
That's so great!

You can really learn a lot about a student with a 6 word memoir. Good job students!

What a great idea, I think it is amazing you can say so much with so few words.
